Happy September dear art friends!

Hope you’ve been having a lovely Summer. Now that it’s September, it feels like it’s a time of learning, a time to go “back to school.” So, I’d love to invite you to my upcoming art classes.

What can art making do for you? What are some of the benefits of making art?

(All pics are from my art classes at Emily Carr House.)

1. Making art lowers your stress levels.

2. Making art improves your overall well-being and reduces anxiety and depression.

3. Making art helps to engage your imagination which strengthens your brain and problem-solving skills.

4. Making art brings you into a state of flow which is incredibly powerful and rewarding. We engage in the present moment and time seems to disappear.

5. Making art can bring a sense of belonging, connection and a sense of purpose.

6. Making art can be a safe outlet to process feelings and emotions.

7. Making art feels good in your body, mind and spirit.

You can make art at home, even just 10 minutes a day can be hugely beneficial.  After dinner, perhaps try scribbling, doodling or painting to a few of your favourite songs. How does that feel?

Or, even better, join me and let’s make art together in community at gorgeous Emily Carr House!
